With the top 15 scores from the Special qualifying for the grand finale of these Championships, the crowd was treated to some sensational dressage during the Freestyle to Music and they were not disappointed as each of the medal winners achieved personal bests. Gold medal winner Adelinde Cornelissen (NED) and Jerich Parzival were in a class of their own and this time there were no mistakes as she posted a score of 88.839%. “She did a wonderful job and was the clear winner on the day,” commented ground jury president Ghislain Fourage afterwards.

The top 30 riders from the Grand Prix qualified for the Special and there was drama all the way! Reigning European Champion Adelinde Cornelissen (NED) and Jerich Parzival retained their title despite going wrong with the eighth movement and hearing the dreaded judge’s bell. However, she recovered her composure brilliantly and racked up the marks in the second half of her test to edge out Carl Hester (GBR) and 10 yr old Uthopia.
